Hacking the National Library of Chile - Digitizing and contextualizing books and documentary pieces from a National Library is a way of hacking it. It is also a way of fixing a country’s memory making available for anyone, regardless distance, time and necessary skills to fully understand it, the cultural heritage held by the largest bibliographic center in the country - Daniela Schütte González

Where is my 'pastel de nata'? Open access and the enormous game changing benefits it brings to the museum world - The advent of the internet has brought a new paradigm for the museum world. By making content openly available and downloadable in high resolution people can now use museum collections as a form of individual expression, as highlighted by the Rijksmuseum. In addition to this Open Access policies have proven beneficial for the promotion, dissemination, democratisation and conservation of museum collections. My presentation seeks to show concrete examples of where Open Access policies have benefitted museums, and highlight how knowledge sharing is intrinsic to progressive and inclusive societies - Luis Ramos Pinto

Wikimedia Commons Data Roundtripping - Wikimedia Commons is the media repository for the OpenGLAM community. It holds millions of heritage works and accompanied metadata from thousands of GLAMs. The descriptive metadata is being translated, corrected, added to by the Wikimedia Community. However thus far this enriched metadata does not find its way back to the GLAMs. Our project researches and makes a tool to get extract this enriched metadata for GLAMs - Maarten Zeinstra
