As the Wikimedia Movement has grown, an increasing numbers of tactics for organizing contribution to the Wikimedia projects from partnerships with Education, GLAM and diversity outreach tactics among others. The Wikimedia Foundation has been using research methods adopted from design research to better understand and support the organizers of this work. This workshop will help participants better understand how qualitative design research methods to study and understand both the general needs of organizers in the open context and specific support tactics in the larger open movement.
