The Creative Common Licenses Embedded Open Resources Registration and Reuse Services (CC ID) is a one-year pilot initiative to advance discovery, distribution and reuse of open works licensed by CC. Authors find it hard to claim their copyright or take legal action for any violation of their works because of original work “link rot” or author's anonymity, use of nicknames, etc., while Internet users lack effective tools to discover CC Licensed works. National Science Library of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and CC China formally launched CC ID tool in June 2018 to address these problems.
