Matej Grochal is a teacher by trade who has worked on Wikipedia for nearly a decade. Other projects followed suit: he is active on Commons and Wikidata. He has been involved in the leadership of Wikimedians of Slovakia, the local branch of the Wiki movement in Slovakia where he (co)organized workshops, competitions and editathons.

Matej studied theatre, education, and Jewish studies and is a graduate of Toronto's York University (BA, BEd) and Palacký University in Olomouc (MA). He hopes the CC movement furthers knowledge accessible to anyone, respect for minorities and awareness of the problems our Earth is facing. He would also like to get further involved with Wikimedia research and {safe space) policies.
