Reengineering Open in the Digital Creation - It's been almost two decades since the discussion around 'open' in the realm of digital governance turned to mainstream. Openness has been addressed, challenged and understood in very political terms. Openness is political.  The advent of new technologies and their pervasive nature requires all digital actors to fit 'open' for new purpose, to reframe its meaning and reengineer the overall design. This presentation identifies the way big data and algorithmic analysis act as drivers for new concerns, new solutions and a different management of the global semantic capital - Alexandros Nousias

Making Money is Important! Open Business Models as an Integrated Part of Creative Commons Movement - Creative Commons was found due to the failure to stop the Copyright Term Extension Act. This ever increasing control is imposed on us in the name of the benefits of the creators, with the latest incarnation as the Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market. By giving creators tools to receive revenue without retaining full copyright, we can demonstrate that open business models are viable alternatives other than control. The success of "Made with Creative Commons" strongly indicated that Open Business Models should be an integrated part of the Creative Commons Movement - Haggen So
